You can search for listings that allow stays of 28+ nights (most offer a discount ranging from 5% to 45%) and filter for “entire homes,” “pets welcome,” and “go near.” To find a place with personal character and amenities like a fully stocked kitchen, Wi-Fi, and washer and dryer, also filter for Airbnb Plus. Many featured properties, like The Cloud Nine below, have been personally inspected and verified for quality and design.

The Cloud Nine Airbnb retreat

1

>> This sophisticated mountain retreat, an engineering marvel, juts off the side of a mountain in the Pisgah National Forest 18 miles from Asheville, North Carolina.
>> Mountain views abound—from the floor-to-ceiling windows, upper terrace, large patio and fire pit.
>> The three bedrooms have king beds with padded headboards and their own bathroom. The master has more stunning views from the private balcony and soaking tub.
>> There are plenty of spaces for gathering—around the breakfast bar in the fully equipped kitchen, by the fireplace in the living area, around the grand piano in the common area.
>> Quality glassware and soft throws are among the special touches.

Eat > Stock Your Pantry

2

>> The Chop Shop Butchery in Asheville sources its high-quality and sustainable meats, seafood, shellfish, charcuterie and eggs from local purveyors.
>> The WNC Farmers Market is set on 36 acres overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Biltmore Estate. Open year-round, this is the place to pick up farm fresh produce, dried beans and local products like honey, stone-ground grits and baked goods.

Do > History, Breweries and Outdoor Sports

3

>> Explore the mountains, rivers and waterfalls of Pisgah National Forest. Biking, hiking, climbing and fishing are just a handful of the outdoor activities currently available.
>> Asheville has a hopping local brewery scene. Most breweries are open and have outdoor spaces where you can down a pint of craft beer and some pub grub.
>> The Biltmore, the Gilded Age mansion of George and Edith Vanderbilt, pictured below, has been faithfully preserved with original furnishings and masterpieces of art. Limited capacity, small group tours of the home are available by reservation only (masks and social distancing required).
