Merges Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty and midsize corporate business to become Allianz Commercial, headed by Joachim Mueller. >> Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty makes slew of appointments. Hires Tracy Ryan as chief regions and markets officer, North America. She joins from Liberty Mutual Insurance Group and succeeds William Scaldaferri, who has left the company after 23 years. Hires Gordon Browne as global head of specialty. He joins from AIG. Jon-Paul Jones succeeds Bettina Dietsche as chief operating officer, and Dirk Vogler takes on the newly created position of chief midcorp transformation officer. Dietsche has moved to parent company Allianz, where she serves as chief people and culture officer. Chief underwriting officer Shanil Williams will take on expanded responsibilities for global lines of business. 

Begins building mid-market team with hire of John Liantonio. He joins from CNA. He reports to Matt Waters, head of U.S. mid-market. 

Launches admitted professional liability and technology errors and omissions coverage. Coverage is available up to $2 million aggregate limit, but clients who need higher limits can apply for coverage. 

Promotes Frances O’Brien to EVP and chief risk officer, succeeding Sean Ringsted, who retains role as chief digital business officer. 

Launches Atlas suite of products, targeting multinational businesses with operations in two or more countries and $1 million to $500 million in turnover. The portfolio focuses on businesses in manufacturing, professional services, and wholesale durable goods. 

Promotes Thomas Colosi to divisional president, alternative markets. He succeeds Rich Suter, who was promoted to divisional group president in January. 

ClearPath Mutual Insurance, formerly Kentucky Workers Compensation Fund, has merged into Harford Mutual. ClearPath, which will continue to operate under its current name, offers around 7,000 policies and writes over $52 million in direct written premium. 

HDI Global Specialty expands online coverage to include general aviation for small fixed-wing aircraft in Canada, targeting private business and pleasure aircraft, with drone coverage to be available in the future. Hull limits available up to $1 million, and up to $5 million available for liability. >> Hires Konstantinos Semertzoglou as head of Greece office, succeeding Notis Vagiakakos, who will retire and take on consultant role after transition. Semertzoglou joins from Groupama Asfalistiki where he served as commercial director. 

President and CEO Marianne Harrison retires. Promotes Brooks Tingle to replace her.

Promotes Becca Sniderman and Toby Smith to chief underwriting officers of casualty and specialty, respectively, in Global Risk Solutions North America.
