Names Jill Beggs as CEO of its reinsurance unit, effective immediately. After working at Everest for nearly a decade before leaving for Munich Re in April 2002, she returned in November 2021 as head of reinsurance for North America and then reinsurance EVP and COO.

Names Mark Shaw as president of Chubb Workplace Benefits. Shaw, with over 30 years in insurance, joined Chubb subsidiary Combined in 2022 as Northeast regional vice president after holding several senior roles at Unum. >> Will open a new engineering center in Bogotá, Colombia, in October 2025, expanding software development, data analytics, AI, and related operations alongside centers in Greece, India, and Mexico.
Begins offering management liability coverage in Australia for life sciences, biotech, and pharma companies, focusing on research and development activities.
Names John Welch as chief underwriting officer. Welch started at Aspen in 2023 as chief underwriting officer for reinsurance and brings over three decades of executive experience with stops at AXA XL and XL Catlin Group. >> Hires Mariza Costa for new position of head of investor relations. Costa comes from Everest, where she held the position of vice president, rating agency relations and corporate finance. She brings over two decades of experience in IR, credit ratings, and equity research, with past positions at AM Best, Allianz, and Stifel.
Names Tracy O’Hara to the new position of deputy chief underwriting officer for U.S. financial & professional lines, following her work since 2019 developing the company’s cyber, E&O, and media lines. >> Teams with Antares Capital and Canro Re to launch Wayfare Reinsurance, which will give Ascot underwriting capacity to support its reinsurance casualty lines in the United States and Bermuda.
Announces head of energy, Steve Portman, who most recently served as lead underwriter for MS Amlin. In 24 years working in the upstream and midstream energy insurance industry, London-based Portman also worked at multiple Lloyd’s brokers.
Hires John Neal as president. Neal previously spent more than six years as CEO of Lloyd’s of London. He will join AIG effective Dec. 1. Neal had previously been announced as the incoming global CEO of reinsurance for Aon, due to start on Sept. 1.
Appoints President Eric Wirkus as CEO. Wirkus is succeeded as president by Sean McVicker, who previously was XS Brokers’ national brokerage property and casualty practice leader.
